Viking Chess
Guard your king to a corner — or let the computer surround him.
How to play Viking Chess
You command the defenders and the king (the center piece); the computer’s attackers ring the edges. All pieces move like a rook — any distance along a row or column. Capture an enemy by flanking it between two of your pieces. You win by walking the king to any corner; the attackers win by surrounding him on all four sides.

Viking Chess — frequently asked questions
How do captures work?
Sandwich a single enemy piece between two of yours along a row or column and it is removed. The king is captured only by being surrounded on all four sides.
Why does one side have more pieces?
Hnefatafl is asymmetric: the attackers outnumber the defenders, but the defenders only need to get the king to a corner to win.
